Prices:
Our discounted prices include comprehensive insurance on the vehicle, two named drivers, unlimited mileage, bail bond, collision damage waiver, theft waiver, public liability cover, all taxes, an emergency back up service and, apart from the cost of petrol and (if applicable) a late meeting charge, there are no hidden extras. NO INSURANCE EXCESS IS PAYABLE. Traffic and parking fines are at the client’s’s expense. In the event of cancellation (or amendment once bookings have been accepted), we reserve the right to make a small surcharge to cover our administrative costs.
Fuel:
Vehicles are supplied with a full tank for which a deposit is charged. This is refunded in full if the vehicle is returned with a full tank. If, during your hire, you put the incorrect fuel into the car; ie petrol into a diesel car (or vice versa) then you will be liable for any associated costs (which may be substantial).
Split Seasons:
If a booking falls over "split seasons" the price is determined by the start date; no increase or reduction applies.
Meeting and Payment Arrangements:
Once a booking has been made we will send you a booking confirmation which will go through ALL meeting and payment arrangements the other end.
Late Arrival:
Our supplier's Airport Depot at Malaga is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, but for arrivals between 22:00 and 08:00 hours, in common with nearly ALL car hire companies operating at the airport, a late meeting charge of £10 is levied. This is a once only charge and does not apply to departures within these hours.
Rental period:
Minimum rental period: 3 days. Rentals under 7 days are charged at a daily rate of 1/5 the weekly rate. If vehicles are returned more than 4 hours after the start time, then clients will be charged an additional day's rental.
Second Drivers:
Free of charge. Any additional drivers are charged at £1 per day per driver.
Child Seats:
Can be supplied for infants weighing between 9 and 18kgs at a cost of £1 per day - maximum charge £10 per booking irrespective of duration. "Booster" seats are also available for children up to 36kg. (NB: Seat belts and child seats are a legal requirement in Spain. For security reasons, child seats must be fitted by the parent or guardian).
Insurance:
Our rates include comprehensive insurance on your hire car (including collision damage waiver, personal accident insurance and third party cover) and Public Liability Cover. (NB. Tyres/wheels, keys, the underneath of the car, traffic or parking fines and towing charges are excluded).
NO INSURANCE EXCESS IS PAYABLE.
Personal Effects Cover is NOT included and we strongly recommend clients to ensure that these are covered by their own travel insurance. The insurance becomes INVALID if anyone whose name is not recorded on the hire contract drives the vehicle, if vehicles are loaded with more than the stated capacity or, following an accident, drivers are found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Insurance also lapses of non 4-wheel drive vehicles are taken "off road" or on roads unsuitable for the vehicle. Reasonable care should be taken with the vehicle at all times and it must be locked, secure and in a safe place when not in use.
Notwithstanding the terms printed on the Standard Hire Contract, the insurance terms and conditions (which are much more advantageous to our clients) will apply to ALL clients booking through Malaga Car Hire. |
Accidents & Mechanical Problems:
Should you be involved in an accident this must be reported to the local police and a signed police report and full details of any third parties, be obtained. If this procedure is not followed then insurance compensation will be invalidated. Any accident MUST be reported to the supplier when the vehicle is returned at the end of your hire. Should you experience any mechanical problems with your hire vehicle, this should be reported as soon as possible (and in any event within 24 hours) to the supplier whose telephone number will be on your contract.
Drivers:
All drivers must be over 21 years of age and have held a full driving licence for over 1 year. There is no upper age limit. All those intending to drive (even if only in an emergency) MUST produce their driving licences and have their names recorded on the hire contract with our local supplier in Malaga (see insurance section above).
Liability: Clients should note that the contract for vehicle hire is between the hirer and the Spanish supplier and NOT with Malaga Car Hire. Hire is subject to the conditions in the supplier's contracts and is governed by Spanish Law. Malaga Car Hire acts solely as a car hire broker and as such accepts no liability whatsoever arising for loss, damage, injury or death, whether arising from negligence, breach of contract or any other cause. In addition to the Insurance cover on vehicles, Hirers should ensure that they have full personal travel insurance covering accident and injury and loss of any personal effects carried in their hire vehicle. |
